about
“Bitterman” was written in typical Tanner Wareham style, birthed during one of his sets he created a reggae style guitar and organ loop which he would improvise rap like melodies over. The chorus built naturally into an easy chant for crowds to sing along to. The song exhibits a man rebuking himself cautioning himself against his wicked selfish ways calling him a bitter man. If the man wishes to acquire true eternal love he must expose his rage and bitterness and purify himself with love and truth, he must seek righteousness.
lyrics
Oh watch your soul son
You’re a bitter man, bitter man
Oh feel your love, love
On the other hand, other hand
Simmer down young beautiful
There’s a fire beneath your waves
You’ve got time, you got time it’s on display You got time, you got time it’s on display
Oh would you look at your heart
You’re just a beginner man, ginner man
Boy wanna knock em all down yeah
You think you’re a winner man, sinner man If you wanna love someone, you better learn To face your hate, you’ve got time
But your face is all disgraced
I said when I walk, I walk through the fire walk through the valley of death and
I feel no wrath and I
Want a lot of love, love but
This man don’t care what the sign above says If you wanna get somewhere
You better hide beneath your rage
Simple is the truth, the bitter man’s
Always gonna play
Cause I’ve been waiting on my own I’ve been dreaming of this song I’ve been wasting away
Can you feel my heart today
Will you wait
Will you wait for me
Oh watch your soul son
You’re a bitter man, bitter man
Oh feel your love, love
On the other hand, other hand
Simmer down young beautiful
There’s a fire beneath your waves
You’ve got time, you got time it’s on display So will you wait for me
Ooh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Bitterman play, Bitterman play, Bitterman play
Play your little games
Ooh a la la la la la
Better look how your life looks
Somebody better show you where the knife is
So you can cut the shit, God’s gonna give you lip Until you fight this, come on boy try to be righteous Bitterman rock, Bitterman roll
Bitterman save your mortal soul
Come on, let the water fill your bones
I’ve been waiting on my own
Oh watch your soul son
You’re a bitter man, bitter man
Oh feel your love, love
On the other hand, other hand
Simmer down young beautiful
There’s a fire beneath your waves
You’ve got time, you got time it’s on display So will you wait for me
Ooh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Bitter man play, bitter man play, bitter man play Play your little game
Ooh a la la la la la la
Look how your life looks Somebody better show you Show you where the knife is
